Visit from California

We were so happy to have Grandma and Grandpa Klassen come visit us for American Thanksgiving. Ruthie warmed up to them in record time and spent some good time bonding. Here are just a few pictures of our visit. We made a HUGE Thanksgiving meal with a gourmet menu of... Roasted turkey with ginger butter and pan gravy; rustic bread stuffing with dried cranberries, hazelnuts and mushrooms; mashed potatoes with caramelized shallots; maple-tangerine cranberry sauce; cauliflower with brown butter, pears, sage and hazelnuts; green beans with lemon vinaigrette and parmesan breadcrumbs. Needless to say, it took ALL day! Ruthie supervised the preparations from safely under the table. Before we ate we took a break and went Christmas tree shopping. It didn't take Ruthie long to realize we were about to do something fun. It's so fun to share our traditions with Ruthie, we found a beautiful tree! The nice man at the Christmas tree place gave Ruthie her first candy cane...It didn't take her long to figure out what to do!Ruthie got lots of rides from Grandpa.Merry Christmas!
