Dress #2

We have the cutest girl in the world. Hands down. I think you would all agree. Unless you stop by on one of those nights when she screams inconsolably. Then you might hesitate to agree.
That's what she has been doing for the last week: screaming. Loud. Like instant headache loud. Barb sort of reached a breaking point this week with Ruthie. She wanted so badly to help her but nothing worked. She would cry really hard for hours at a time. Finally, we decided to go the the doctor and get the professional opinion. The doctor was sympathetic (sympathy might have been what we needed most) but she was also encouraging. She reminded us that this is a stage and will not last forever. She also gave some practical advice. Well, that appt. (on Friday) was a turning point. Since then Ruthie has been the most pleasant agreeable girl. She has slept great, eaten great, been happy. What a relief. We are much happier (and much more sane) now.



Today was a first for us. We got an invitation for lunch solely because we were parents. It's like we are in a new club now. We were four sets of parents who chatted in a garden with tuna sandwiches and fresh baked cookies (thanks to me, of course). We talked about crying babies, choosing names, and nursing while the kids played (or sat in the bassinet, in Ruthie's case).

Here are some recent pics of Ruthie. She wore her 2nd dress today (from Great Aunt Marcy). I think you'll find that adorable is an appropriate description. Needless to say I am in love with my little girl. She is just fantastic. I can't wait for you all to meet her if you haven't already.






Look at those cheeks! Ruthies gained 11 ounces in the last week!! She's officially chubby.
