Easter

The weather on the northern California coast this Easter weekend has been nothing short of divine. Today we went to a packed out Easter service at our church. Ruthie wore her first dress today. That was pretty exciting. Barb said, “She really is a girl,” as if the dress finally made it official. I can tell you what is official: Ruthie being the cutest. She created quite a fan base at church today. Especially with the “new grandma” age women. They loved her.

After church we took a picnic down to the beach. Barb’s brother John and Christy and little Alexander were with us this weekend. (They came for a last minute visit!). We’ve loved having them here. So we laid in the warm sun for a couple hours. Now we are just relaxing at home after a great Easter dinner of ham & yams. After bath time we are having apple pie and ice cream. Mmm. It’s like dessert for everybody – Ruthie gets her warm bath and we get pie.
This week has been spring break for me. I spent part of most days at home, going for walks with Barb and Ruthie but I also worked on a special box that I made as a side project. My big project for the year - a large sideboard cabinet – feels like it’s going slowly. I am having a nice time at school though. I have been thinking a lot lately about what I will do after the school year. Where will I work? How will I manage to keep making furniture? Another big question we haven’t answered – where will we live? That’s a big one. Anyone have any suggestions?? We’re considering all options.
Hope you all had as nice of an Easter as we did. I’ve gotta go. It’s bath time.

It think sometimes Barb thinks Ruthie is a just a doll that she can play dress up with. Everyday this week she reminded me how much she looked forward to putting this Easter dress on Ruthie!

  4. First of all Barb you look gorgeous. I love the picture of you in the green holding Ruthie. Every time I see a picture of Ruthie I"m surprised that she doesn't look anything like Ellie. I don't know why, but I'm expecting her too and she doesn't. She's a cute little Klassen/Best adorable little miracle. Or should I say big-8lbs. Much more than one of Ellie's legs weighs now...well a little more, her legs are bigger than when you saw her last.Love you all
