Due Date

March 17th was Barb's due date. That was yesterday. And we already have a 6 WEEK OLD. It's amazing how not in control we are of our lives. Six weeks ago I was just beginning to think I should start mentally preparing myself for an early arrival. Before I could do that I was holding a sleepy baby. Life, I guess, moves forward without our permission.

I'm glad it did. We love our little girl. Like every other new parent we can waste away every evening just staring at her and marveling at the most simple gestures. She's giving us about one smile everyday now. And, her mom insists I tell you, she is up to a hefty 6 lbs 6 ounces (as of a week ago). Her knees are even beginning to feel chubby!
Yesterday we took her to the beach in the BabyBjörn. It was cozy for Barb to have her snuggled up against her. Today I get to carry her in it. It was a great day to visit the beach. Nice light.

My brother Donny and his family visited this weekend. They love Ruthie.

  2. A-DOR-A-BLE!!!!!! Oh she's so cute and look at those chubby little cheeks. All the hours of work you're putting in Barb are sure paying off. She looks great. I love the little orange shirt. And is that sleeper from her cousin Ellie. She must be so much bigger than when we were there. Can't wait for May! Love you all

  3. Beautiful. I love the first picture of Ruthie. How she's throwing her arms up and saying... "YEAH!!! I WAS EARLY!!" Weird to think that now is when you guys should be coming parents. You are right... we really are not in control. :-)

The beach shots are beautiful!! I love the one of you holding the shell in your hand. The sun burst in the back is amazing.

I'm glad your family has been able to come up and visit. Hopefully Ruthie will get to meet Karis soon. I'm the long car right might not be an option for a while. :-)
