Well, my education has come to an end (for now, anyways). I completed my sideboard cabinet last week, we had our spring show opening at the gallery in Mendocino last weekend, my tools are packed up and we just came back from our end of the year party. Our party was at our instructor's acreage in the Redwood forest about an hour away from Fort Bragg. It's the most beautiful, idyllic, perfect slice of heaven you have ever seen. Sunny, open and green in a forest of giant redwoods and madrone trees. We (me, Barb and Ruthie) stayed in a little cabin on the property. It defined romantic. (Not that romance exists in the home of a newborn). Ruthie was a champion. She slept great, was happy and fun the whole time.
Tomorrow is graduation. Monday we go down to visit Klassen family before a few days in Vermont to have a little summer vacation with the Best family and cousins. Then we come back to Fort Bragg, pack up and move to Washington. Then I start my business, have a great summer with our little family and live happily ever after...I hope.
We had a heat wave here this week - up to 85 deg! I know, it's not crazy warm, but a big change from the usual 60 deg.
I added pics of my sideboard below. I have been working on it since Ruthie was born. She's 3 months and 2 weeks old now. Wow! She's getting cuter everyday. She has the cutest, most subtle and wonderful laugh. I hope you can all hear it soon. It makes your life better just to hear it once.
Congratulations on graduating! Sounds like you three have some wonderful plans ahead of you.
ReplyDeleteYour baby girl is just beautiful... I can't believe how much she is chunking up! I LOVE chubby baby legs! :)
Wow, m&c are on the ball and beat me to the comments. Can't wait, can't wait, can't wait to see you all, Kevin says the same. Probably a good idea not to try sleeping under the stars this year. Congrats Greg on finishing. Good work and the side table looks amazing. To a trained eye I'm sure it's even more impressive. I think all your work is beautiful. Ellie is gumming the forklift as I write so thanks for using non toxic paint. See you in Vermont.
ReplyDeleteGreg! Congrats on finishing up with school - you create beautiful pieces...and babies! :) Looking forward to seeing you guys in August! :)
ReplyDeleteHey guys! It was SOOOO good to see you this past week. Little Ruthie is so precious.
ReplyDeleteOnce you guys are settled in, email me your new address so I can send you a cd of the pictures. :-)
