It is the night before we leave for Sweden. We are packed (2 suitcases and a carry-on). We are rested. And we are excited! Excited is the word I have been using and nervous is the word Barb has chosen to go with. Maybe I am nervous and she's excited? Well, to be honest, I am a little nervous too. We are flying into Copenhagen where we will be staying 2 nights before we take a train to Kalmar, Sweden where we are eventually picked up by the school headmaster (Agneta) and driven to the island of Ă–land. Soooo, we are going to Copenhagen for 2 nights but do we have any place to stay when we get there? No. Why not?, you might ask. Because I am not smart, that's why. Amidst all of details that I have gotten in order this summer and all the lists I have made in preparation for this trip, I overlooked this "detail" until 2 days before we leave. Yeah, so, I'll let you know how that goes.

For those of you who are still trying to zero in on the path of our zig-zagging lives, I am returning to the College of the Redwoods Fine Woodworking program for a 2nd year. During the first semester I will be part of a student exchange program with Capellagarden school in Sweden. While we are there, Barb will be a guest student in the school's ceramics (pottery) program. It should be a great year for us. We spent the summer living in Canada. Oh, and we are not traveling alone to Sweden. Barb has a baby in her! Yes, we went to the doctor yesterday and an ultrasound showed me our little baby's beating heart! It was wild. The baby will come out around March 10. Our baby will have lived in 3 countries for 3 months before it is born. So, as we begin our adventure I hope that you will all stay tuned. Until next time.
Hi guys and baby, I'm thinking about you a lot today and pray that you'll have a smooth journey. Going to have a nap now. Love you both so much and miss you already, and am excited about your adventure.
